ABOUT

Cody, Lead Therapist

Walking into your first appointment at Integrative Psych you are likely to be greeted by a smiling golden retriever, ready to calm your nerves, help you cope with challenges, and excited to be your new friend. Cody, Integrative Psych’s professionally trained animal assisted therapy dog, creates a relaxing, engaging, and supportive therapy environment.

Just like Cody, you will look forward to all appointments he attends. Cody has been trained in multiple treatment modalities so that he can meet your needs and desires.

Need comfort? He will put his head on your lap and provide a supportive shoulder to cry on.

Want to be more active and move around during therapy? He has fun playing games and performing tricks.

Want cuddles? He’s always ready for scratches and a belly rub.

Animal assisted therapy is an underutilized treatment modality and is hard to find in NYC. Integrative Psych is a leader in the field and is pioneering a unique first-of-its-kind animal assisted therapy program in NYC. As a team, Cody and Dr. Sultan trained with Leash and Learn City Smart Dog Training for nearly two years and are certified by The Good Dog Foundation

Animal assisted therapy compliments the normal experience of therapy and can result in significant mental health and behavioral improvements. The scientifically proven benefits of animal assisted therapy include:
