Zurama Rodriguez is a bilingual (English/Spanish) board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with specialized training in children and adolescents. She earned her Master of Science in Nursing from Florida International University and is currently pursuing her Doctor of Nursing Practice. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Behavioral Neuroscience from Quinnipiac University. As a registered nurse, she worked at Monte Nido's adolescent eating disorder residential facility, this fueled her love for working with the younger population. She enhanced her expertise in child and adolescent care by completing an advanced practice provider fellowship at Seattle Children's Hospital.
She prioritizes meeting the patient where they are at in their healing journey. Her goal is to minimize the use of medication and streamline the medication regimen whenever possible. Her approach to care is centered on creating a safe, supportive environment where clients feel truly heard, starting with building a strong connection. She takes a holistic approach to treatment focusing on lifestyle changes that promote healing, with an emphasis on stress management, sleep hygiene, daily routines, nutrition, physical activity, and interpersonal relationships. Outside of her professional life, she enjoys spending time at animal sanctuaries, cooking, gardening with her family, and taking dance classes.
